Most area stillwaters are seeing damselfly emergences at the moment. Fish relish these flies—both nymphs and adults. The adults aren’t always easy for fish to capture, but if you witness their egglaying activity it’s quite a sight to watch fish hunt them. The damsel in the photograph has just emerged and is not yet capable of flight, so it was easy to approach and photograph.
