Held on the banks of the Henry’s Fork in Last Chance, Idaho, Todd Tanner’s 2018 School of Trout was, by all accounts, a rousing success. We had a great group of students, and a first-rate lineup of instructors (I participated as head casting instructor). The Trouthunter facilities and food were enjoyed by all and having the river right out the back door made for an excellent learning atmosphere. With many laughs and great times throughout the week, much was learned by everyone who attended. You can read student reviews here, and see photographs of the school here.
For 2019, Todd has scheduled two schools. In late August there will be an advanced dry fly fishing school, and in early October a basic trout class. Both schools will be wonderful learning opportunities as well as a lot of fun. I’ll be participating in both, with casting instruction again my primary role, but with a few additional teaching responsibilities as well. If you’re seriously interested in improving your flyfishing skills, these schools will do it.
